APASA's Got Talent 2017

Last Friday APASA hosted one of its signature Asian Pacific American Heritage Festival Events, APASA’s Got Talent at Ground Zero Café. With a full audience and talented guest judges like FUZZZY, PRISKA, and David Choi, the stage was set for an incredible night. Even before night began, Kollaboration LA’s 1st place winner, Timothy John, headlined the show. It was an incredible start and Isaac Solo, an audience member and fellow music artist said that, “The show would have been just as amazing even if only Timothy John played the whole time.” Alas, aspiring artists were eager to perform and talented singers, rappers, beatboxers, and musicians took the stage. Performers like CLARENCE, Jamie Kwon, and Melody brought power grace, and attention to the stage while the fan favorite duo Casey and Kelly had the crowd cheering and laughing at their witty puns. Alex Luu and Leo Xia both had extremely powerful APA-issue related performances which put some of the judges in awe, and others on the verge of tears. Izzy Brown with her cover on Rihanna’s “Love on the Brain” captivated both the judges and the audience with her incredible vocal performance. Lastly, Matt Zurik with his original song “Holy” left judges stunned, with celebrity judge PRISKA telling Matt “that she was glad that he dropped pre-med to pursue music full-time.” In the end it was Izzy Brown, Alex Luu, and Matt Zurik that took home the titles of second runner up, first runner up, and winner of APASA’s Got Talent respectively. To make the night even better, FUZZZY, PRISKA, and David Choi put on a show with their own performances. It was a night of free milkshakes and unforgettable talent at Ground Zero, and we at APASA would like to thank the judges for taking their time to be a part of our community, the artists for being a part of our show, and the audience for coming out to support our local artists! Have a great night, and Fight On!
