Why did you apply to APASA?

I admired the impact that APASA was making on campus for the APA community. APASA inspired me with all of their events they had on campus and the visible space they were taking up space in the USC community. I actually attempted to be in APASA three times, but I continued to apply because I wanted to be a part of the change being made--and look at me now!

Favorite APASA memory so far:

Emceeing for APASA Night Market. When I say "And I oop" you say "sksksksk"!

A significant cultural milestone for you:

The legalization of gay marriage in Taiwan because it became the first nation in Asia to legalize gay marriage. Taiwan said: gay rights!

What does being APA mean to you?

Being part of a family.

If you could plan any event at USC, what would it be?

Alternative Winter Break: Country hopping in Asia to explore all the countries that are member organizations represent. China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Vietnam, and India. We will stop by Hawaii on the way back to the United States.

What is your long-term goal for APASA?

This is going to be my first and last year in APASA. With that said, my long-term goal is to have APASA and students look back at the videos that I created and possibly learn something new and be inspired to do little things to promote diversity.

Thank you Austin!
