APASA Spotlight: Justin Kawaguchi
Why did you apply to APASA?
I wanted to learn more about APA identity and find a community that could help me grow!
Favorite APASA memory so far:
APASA Santa Monica intern-eboard outing at the beginning of the fall semester (as a freshman intern, as the Recruitment Director after selecting interns, and this year as an eboarder!)
A significant cultural milestone for you:
The Civil Liberties Act of 1988 by President Reagan granted reparation payment to the thousands of Japanese Americans incarcerated during World War II because it both acknowledged the injustice of the American government during the war and showed a good faith effort to restore trust. What does being APA mean to you?
What does being APA mean to you?
Being part of an identity that provides strength and community with those around me through shared values and experiences.
If you could plan any event at USC, what would it be?
Snow day.
What is your long-term goal for APASA?
Grow APASA into a community people seek to join and grow from.
Thank you Justin!
